IMO...this This where CONTEXT AWARENESS comes into olay...this is a HUGE potential revenue stream.
It's called Context Awareness, which is being developed by companies such as Qualcomm, Intel, Xerox Park and others. Here is a link to Qualcomm's "Gimbal" website. It includes a video that describes how context awareness works.

What was the term you used regarding when a person drives by a Subway in close proximity they send a coupon to your phone?
I took this to mean with GPS tracking they send a signal via cell sites initiated by a Google, Yahoo etc.
