RP Speak told me ``EDig is involved`` with the DS. No one knows how and some do not believe that statement due to Brent of Wencor (BOW) lack of information.

RP Speak told me ``EDig will have a presence at the WAEA``

Take those two statements and couple them with APS and EDig ``unveiling a working protype of the DS LAST YEAR`` at the aircraft show in Seattle I believe.

Then couple all that with the first and third paragraphs in BOW`s release yesterday, (post 422384 by Ricardo) one has to conclude that ``showing off elements of the DS`` (1st paragraph) at the WAEA and ``content provided for by.....yadda, yadda with deliveries next spring`` (3rd paragraph) then one HAS TO CONCLUDE that the reason for EDig`s showing up at the WAEA is because of the Digesystem and its involvement in it...

It stretchs business credibility that BOW would be able to create an entirely new DS from scratch this quickly and get it to market with a new company, using new technology not based on the DP, WHEN IT ALREADY HAS IN ITS HANDS THE ONE CREATED BY EDIG LAST YEAR.

It is also impossible, and I use that word in the exact meaning the dictionary implies, to create a new DS in the time frame we are looking at, get it to all the content providers listed in paragraph 3 HAVE THEM TEST OR NOT TEST AND GET THEIR APPROVAL. NO WAY....

So one has to logically conclude the DS being shown off at the WAEA is THE UNIT CREATED BY EDIG AND THE ONE THAT HAS GAINED APPROVAL FROM ALL THE CONTENT PROVIDERS LISTED.

I see no other scenario....EDig is NOT at the WAEA for the DP...Why?, they are not needed to promote an already successful product and the way BOW demands secrecy he would not want them there for that reason.

Getting a flavor of the man, BOW, I would not be surprised if his statement ``hiring a design and development``...yadda yadda.... DID NOT MEAN IT WAS EDIG but another firm cutting EDig out of the picture for his obsession with ``control`` and ``ownership of IP`s``

But if I am correct about the DS now be pushed by BOW then it has to be based on EDig`s IP and EDig HAS TO HAVE A LEGAL INVOLVEMENT WITH THE PROCESS, or BOW is trying to pull off a fast one claiming ownership of all the IP in the DS and IN THE DP....

Remember when RP Speak said many many times in the past when queried about the DP saying ``APS owns the outside shell and EDig owns EVERYTHING INSIDE`` per their contract with APS.

If the DS is BASED on the DP then EDig`s IP has to be inside and still owned by EDig.

Longinedig posted a blurb about Portal Player last evening which showed that company, not very successful before its creation of the IPOD for APPLE, doing extremely well after. That tells me that Portal Player, not a large company at the time, was not just ``hired`` to make the product, then dumped when its work was done, but is getting substantial revenue from the sales of the IPOD by Apple.

I say this only thinking about a ``design`` firm hired by BOW to create the DS just working on an hourly wage (NRE`s) and then ``dumped`` by BOW when the product is done....No large firm would do so, would a small company ``GIVE UP COMPLETE CONTROL OVER ITS TECHNOLOGY AND IP TO BOW`` with a pat on the back and a final check for its work.....If the DS is a roaring success would any design company give up royalties for its labor? I DO NOT THINK SO.

That kind of company would have to be pretty desparate to do so and if that were the case just how good a product could it put forth....Unless, of course, BOW bought the design firm, ala IMS...But no news to that effect has come forth.

Sorry for the length and I hope I haven`t put any to sleep. I have been rolling this around in my ``litte grey cells`` for some time and EDig NOT being involved in the JUST MAKES NO SENSE TO ME....
