``Russian Jet Direct becomes the 18th airline to choose the digEplayer. Mr. Wood stated that several more airlines will announce their selection of the digEplayer in the next few weeks.``

The thought just struck me that we already know of all 18 airlines that have chosen to use the digE. RyanAir and Jetsgo dropped out of the scene, but they did choose the digE. Still, several more coming...which brings me to:

That Bizjournal article emit posted:

``But clearly some airlines are moving toward handheld devices. Alaska has already outfitted all of its cross-continental airplanes with them, and American Airlines and Northwest Airlines are beginning to introduce the systems, too.``

There may be something to this.... We know (I think) that American tried out the digE, and then the PEA. Could they have finally opted for the digE? No word on PEA acceptance, and what other handheld is currently available? As for NorthWest, I though they had gone embedded with DirectTV or something. In fact, just the other day in a TV news bit they showed the cabin of a NorthWest plane with those embedded units at every seat. Clearly not a handheld. And note how this was worded, implying they same system as Alaska.

Could be too good to be true, and the reporter may have just fouled up (like that`s never happened before!). But this does have me scratching my head.

Comments PLEASE...

Cuz I KNOW nuttin`!
