I did not make up this concept, but if there is a customer out there with ``special`` needs, I see no reason why the makers of the digEplayer or the medeplayer don`t attempt to fill the need.
O`Leary is the only one with this vision to date, so I see no threat to this IFE market right now. However, rather than fret over what may be, I`d rather see them strike out and incorporate some sort of minimal gambling option to go along with all the other content.
Unlike casinos, people usually don`t fly just to gamble, so I don`t see airplanes becoming casinos in the sky, but I do see it as a viable option to consider as an alternative form of entertain for a segment of the flying population.
Besides, my intrigue with this possibility is merely a discussion in a remote chatroom based on O`Leary`s comments and not an initiative for the company.
Needless to say, if the digEplayer is the first to have something like this it might just spur sales.
I have seen no effort by the gambling industry to target airlines to date.
