If they have been test marketing the kiosk concept that long and have decided to give it a go, they must have a reason. Anything to compete with itunes??? Perhaps artist promotional offerings to draw traffic or maybe they are targeting the not so computer literate and the impulse buyers...plug in your player and push the button for the song you have selected, no downloading/computer interfacing and maybe better pricing as the retailers may help subsidize efforts to increase traffic to their stores.
Regardless, I am happy to see the work ``KIOSK`` appear anywhere.
And again I ask, can video be far behind? From my understanding the video kiosks are more likely to be placed in non-traditional places...malls, convenience stores etc.
