It's amazing what was accomplished in the parochial system where a normal class size could be 40, 50 or 60 kids in a class.
My children went through a "quality" public school system where anything over 20 students jeopardized the "individual attention" those little pieces of veal required. Scarier still, they all continued on to fine colleges having graduated as functional illiterates. It's not uncommon today for college freshmen to attend remedial classes in writing papers and public speaking. No wonder that the average undergrad finishes in 5 years.
As long as local property values (and tax base) are supported by the perception of a superior school system nobody will protest too loudly.
My teachers (nuns and brothers) beat the snot out of me and I didn't turn out all that bad...twitch, twitch. As for you, Bosocker...perhaps it also explains how you chose to be a Sox fan! Took a few to the head, huh!
(Go Yankees!) GLTA and my apologies for being so off topic.
