You seem to be saying Wencor has EDig by the ``short hairs``. However if no ``deal`` is struck, if no ``control`` is given then what is the next logical step?? Wencor to dump EDig.....according to your theory....

I don`t know if I buy that at all.....EDig is now known, or getting more well known for the DP and the design of the Digesystem.....EDig has the legal right to the ``guts`` of the DP and Wencor could not use it in its present form without EDig being in the picture somewhere. The engineering design for the Digesystem was done by EDig. (not known if EDig has any legal rights here)

Besides the factor of having to go in a different direction with different designs and difficulty in explaining a new product to the present customers of the DP whom seem to be well satisfied, Wencor would have to come up with something the studios will buy to secure their content (which it appears IMS did not have)

Very difficult and time consuming in my opinion....

HOWEVER THE BIGGEST FLY IN THIS OINTMENT IS WENCOR WOULD BE CREATING A BONAFIDE, SUCCESSFUL COMPETITOR IN EDIG.

I cannot emphasize this too much. Wencor`s entire game plan appears to be ``controlling the IFE market`` It bought APS, IMS and as of now still has EDig in its camp. There does not appear to be any substantial competion out there right now. Wencor has a clear field and a big jump with the success of the DP.

Is Wencor dumb enought to screw this up by ``dumping`` EDig? That just makes no sense to me. Instead of ``cornering`` the IFE market it cuts loose EDig, to do IFE business with anyone else it wishes, the company who is responsible for creating the product that started it all.

EVen if you have no confidence in EDig`s business acumen to be proactive post Wencor, how long do you think it will take a company who sees the potential of the IFE market, wishes to jump in and has the wherewithall to do so, to contact EDig with the idea of having a ready made, successful product to put their name on...??

EDig is well known by those who make it their business to stay on top of this field and getting more ``kudos`` all the time.

I cannot see WEncor defeating the very purpose of it`s IFE existance by making the creator of it a COMPETITOR...
