At the 9/17/08 SHM, one of the slides presented showed 2006 CE market to be 30 Bln, and the speaker (I think this was part of Fred's speal) stated 2008 was expected to be 50 Bln.

The numbers shown on this slide I believe for 10 years thru 2006, and they were exponential.

With the ecomomic down turn the last 18 months or so, it's anyone's guess if 2008 ended up at 50 Bln or not, but the gadget business seems to have a new item and block buster sales with each introduction. It's legit to say, IMO, this market will hit new highs for years to come.
