I think the priority was to get EDIG on solid footing financially so they would have no need to issue new shares to raise capital, fund operations and expand its IFE efforts.

I think if they had 8-10 infringers in total they might have had to play hard ball.

With over 200, the strategy is different. They will play hardball when it makes sense to do so and they can afford the risk associated with going to court...a risk these early settlers were more than happy to avoid.
