LG's legal fees would have likely mounted to a few million alone, if not more, if this case was litigated to the endpoint, with a likely unfavorable verdict for them at the hands of a jury who might just levy $100 million or more.

I find it hard to believe that DM would settle for a million or two considering the size of the identified market having a flash patent portfolio in hand.

What jury doesn't get flash in hand held products especially when Pat Nunally can easily demonstrate the infringement by demonstation?

Certainly early settlement indicates a middle point was reached so I would not expect $100 million on this, but $10 or $20 million would not surprise me...and I would still be happy with $1 to $5 million.
