For what I have considered, regarding e.Digitals tech that may or may not be involved for a CMOS image sensor process, I guess it would come down to what does the e.Digital process circumvent in the way of hardware?

Would they be monetarily eligible for the value of eliminated elements, as well as intrinsic value?
