Electronic discovery is a PIA for any corporate IT dept. 5 years ago my old corp was involved in a lawsuit and I was the IT guy for the corp office. I had to construct a completely separate email system and restore 2 years of email, run dozens of searches for specific terms and provide hundreds of thousands of emails to the lawyers. Very time consuming and frustrating work.
