RE: apps/OS's...Makes no difference....the bit stream delivered directly from flash is e.Digitals. That is what allows the direct manipulation of stop...forward rewind....etc  As for the properties of other OS's, they are appended.

 You've got to stop and put a thought into what that simple statement means.

 "ergo  less power needed" .... Again, as it relates to power needed, it makes no difference. If you read 445, you will discover that the bandwidth through their firmware will be the same for any file type  structured into their environment.
