I don’t know about that... seems like e.Digital is working the system a bit too.
If you consider the worst case - that e.Digital could ultimately lose against digEcor... then it’s best for e.Digital to drag this on as long as it can. Meanwhile, eVUs are being sold and by the time they’d have to cease and/or pay any settlement, the patents will have had the chance to pay off one way or another - at least enough to provide the funds for any judgement against them. Getting the case over with quickly even if it goes our way really does little to benefit the company other than eliminating the headache and cost of defense - that is, unless we somehow win really big and actually get something out of digEcor, which I seriously doubt.
While I remain interested in how the digEcor case is going, this whole deal has really been pushed toward the back of my mind in terms of its relative importance. I’m more concerned with future/on-going sales and of course most keenly interested in the IP monetization front. That’s the key to this company’s future and our last, best hope for significant gains in the share price.
