Again, this is a conceptual number, only considering a different business model as opposed to building a high priced product that does not go beyond the initial sales point. None here have actual knowledge of unit costs, but we do know they are considering alternative models, turn key etc, that lead us to CONCEPTUALIZE which model and direction EDIG may find most beneficial.
My $200 reference was only to demonstrate the alternative model, a contrast, which I still find most beneficial to EDIG shareholders as it delivers a recurring revenue stream, as opposed to higher margins with no after sales revenues...also consider a model that exists somewhere in between. (see the cost of cell phones vs service contracts and tell me where the money is)
Also, consider how hardware is commoditized and look at the price wars in the cpu industry to better understand someone will build it cheaper in a flash, so better to lock a customer and share in on the back end for years to come....(service, content, advertising)
Again, I speak to concepts, since no one, not even you, have a handle on the numbers.
Imagine tens of thousands of eVUs "installed" in locations with captive audiences are swiping away for $5 to pass hours of wasted/waiting time....
A much better model from where I sit TODAY...as again, I evaluate developments in real time and not 6 years later in 20-20 hindsight.
