Did you guys notice a little something in the description that goes beyond mere security? Looks like a method of keeping track of the age of each bit of content. This would be essential if (one of) the purposes of the device is to take on content for a predetermined amount of time, as in content rental, afterwhich the content ``goes away``. This, IMO, is ``one step beyond`` what would be necessary for a controlled application (e.g., IFE, where content is controlled in such a way that it`s not such an issue). But I suppose it could also be part of the security beyond the ``when the battery dies`` self-destruct feature, but here it would seem pointless except for as I suggest - it`s a real-time clock that ticks even when the device is not in use. I`m convinced it`s to support content rental - which means they`ve also planned for sale of the device (eVU or whatever) to consumers, who would obtain content from a kiosk, off the net or something on a rental basis. This is not a new concept or anything we haven`t heard of before, it`s just interesting (to me anyway).
But I KNOW nuttin`!
