The first layers of the DigEplayers are DRM related...
Like I have stated in the past...e.Digital is capable of items of the first layers...however, it`s the final layers e.Digital is more involved with...and that is the format of the hard drive and related I/O...as well as the internal direction of the bit stream through the related components associated with...and necessary for the first layers....file decryptor / file decoder...specialized processor.
Tie e.Digitals hands?...Hard drive encryption is not DRM.
IMO...they`ve made a mistake in their claim against e.Digital....the word ``certain`` says so.
certain would mean that..
DiVx must be providing the specialized bit stream...coordinated to e.Digitals file management ability...the water mark and camera effects IMO are handled by the content provider....the encryption of the complete video file(specialized bit stream/water mark/camera effects) can be any standard...all of the DRM...is placed in an encrypted hard drive.
IMO...a blunder....
