Message: Re: Transfer of ZEN from RBC DI to TFSA

To those of you that I have been messaging with over the last 6 weeks regarding moving Zenith shares into registered accounts. After surveying many brokers, some that accept zenith in registered accounts, I chose Scotia ITrade as one that accepts zenith, to move my zenith shares to. This process has taken 30 days... first to transfer cash account from Raymond James to Scotia ITrade, then after ITrade had already accepted zeniths Feb 6 valuation letter, they then refused to accept that letter stating they needed a more recent dated letter. I then spoke to zenith and they prepared the new valuation letter dated may 5th(posted on zenith website). I provided this letter to ITrade and then they refused this letter and wanted it to be an original letter(not scanned, not photo copied) so I then had to obtain an original letter with Brad Canns original signature and then get it certified as a true original signature...(BS). While I managed to obtain this letter, it was difficult and I was told not to expect to receive original letters in the future! Imagine in 2019 ITrade only deals with original signatures, all documents must be mailed to ITrade, no scans , no copies.

So after 30 days pushing, I managed to get zenith shares moved from one broker to another and then get them contributed to my TFSA after Scotia ITrade moved the goal posts 3 times!

Today I was told ITrade will accept the may 5th valuation letter for 90 days. After 90 days I would require a new current dated valuation letter.

Now to decide if I should move my zenith shares from my rrsp at Raymond James to ITrade then remove them from rrsp and contribute them to my tfsa?(yes, I am aware that removing them from rrsp is a taxable event, and then contributing them to tfsa will use up contribution room in tfsa)

Well I must say, it is not easy, but it is possible to move Zenith shares to registered accounts....
