I'm not necessarily smarter, I just did some reading on this a couple of weeks ago.
Getting from the Venture to the TSX encompasses a few pinnacles that need to be met. The TSX is the senior equity market, while the TSX Venture Exchange is a public venture capital marketplace for emerging juniors. The average market cap on the big board is around $1.4 billion whereas the average MC in the venture is $17.5 million. ZEN is a long way from a billion right now. Getting to a point where the company is cash-flow positive, growing strong and has a strong engaged shareholder base (institutional investors) is the key to that jump which means they would need to move from an exploration company to a production (mining in ZEN's case) company. They have to prove they have solid management and can execute growth to reach these pinnacles that would initiate the transition. I doubt ZEN will ever reach the TSX as most if not all of us believe they will be sold.
