Averaging down is usually a good idea if the company has a "normal" future, but this market is worse than any of us could have anticipated.
I agree with your idea that the company should try to finance without consolidating the shares, but maybe they won't be able to.
I have already voted "against" the proposal, and have a mistrust of management of public companies in general, but I guess if they could prove to me that it is consolidation, or bust, then I might see it differently.
We are going to see a rash of these reverse splits, I'm afraid. I just received another in the mail today for SAZ. They are asking shareholders to give management carte blanche to consolidate up to 1 for 20....Wow!
