(PRESS PROFILE TAB FOR FACT SHEET & UPDATES)
Hi Sea, long haul is right, how long are you a holder of TDC? Any ideas on acquisition I might have are purely spec and the result of legwork and a bit of experience (mostly bad experience it is safe to say). We did talk about this when the announcement of a finance mechanism and plans to acquire production was made a few weeks ago, you might look those posts up, they are interesting. There are a number of mines out of production but ready to go, one is American Bonanza BZA which shut down its Copperstone Mine (Arizona) in October with all infrastructure in place, another is the Hollister Mine (Nevada) formerly owned by Great Basin Gold GBG which went bankrupt, now owned by Brookfield the mine finance company. Any acquisition having share structure and shareholders etc. will take a while to acquire as they go through the formal presentations to the Board and shareholders, then votes, etc.. And there is the question what to do about any external encumbrances such as debt or royalty payments, hopefully these would be revised. A mine owned by a finance company like Brookfield would be more easily disposed of and the debt/royalty issue would likely be solved as part of the deal. My dream acquisition - and it is a wild dream - is the Colossus CSI Mine in Brazil which is a massive bonanza grade gold, platinum and palladium mine in the final stages of development, today mkt cap $29.8 million @ .17 Canadian per share (3 years ago, it was $10.00 per share), needing $70 million to complete development because of a terrible management which has made some awful decisions including the failure to provide an accounting of resources under the NI43, and also some ground condition problems whose seriousness is tough to estimate but could be pretty bad. Sort of the ultimate challenge for someone with talent like Brian Briggs or anyone else. But this is a wild-eyed dream, it would be way complicated and risky but the returns could be spectacular. Ike
