Baires, I'm not sure if Schiff's account holders would necessarily agree about the accuracy of his timing. He's put them in the right things which at the moment are the wrong things if you see what I mean...

The problem here is that those of us who educate ourselves and who follow the fundamentals are almost bound to get their timing off because the majority of the investing public are clueless and open to doing what the Wall Street/City/ Government crew instruct them to do through their agents in the media. We've suffered from being a couple of pages ahead of the crowd.

If you're an old hand and rich, like JP and Schiff, I guess that doesn't worry you too much, but for the less experienced without the deep pockets it can make you loose sleep/turn to drink/flirt with insanity etc.

I guess the answer is a fundamental approach to your investment strategy with a technical approach to your entry and exits points. However, there are so many technicians around that I wouldn't know who to follow and would end up changing direction that many times I'd end up giving all my money to my broker. I'll guess I'll have to stick with shit timing and hope the fundamentals win out in the end...

Incidently (and I haven't followed this that closely), it seems to me that Marc Faber seems to have both an excellent grasp of the fundamentals and also a good feel for the market and where it's going in the short to medium term. Would like to see him on FSN again soon...
