Unwired, One thing to add to you post about options and decisions.
Knowing all this... but not any market reaction... I do....
A. Sell everything and go to cash.
B. Buy gold and silver physical and shares.
C. Buy financials and homebuilders.
D. Do nothing.
Faced with the same decision back in January, I chose B, and also
E. Get the h%^&!!! out of the U.S. at whatever loss I needed to.
Like you, I made my decision and I'll take my lumps.
One thing I have learned the hard way, and I am resolved to follow, is to wait for my theory to prove or disprove itself. I lost a lot of money a few years ago by being right about something, but not having the stomach or patience to find out that I was right.
The world isn't any better than it was in January, so our theory isn't proven or disproven. It's still in the testing stage. If things suddenly turn out wonderful, then I'll know (and no doubt be wailing like a baby).
I don't feel like a winner right now, but I do know that all of my investments are still there, and a lot of people have lost a lot more money than me this year. Just think of all those people invested in banks, insurers, and specialty funds. Their theories have been proven wrong.
