Good question, Baires. I haven't listened to the interview yet but I am playing it safe buy buying both.

My own feeling is that there is a tonne of cash sitting on the sidelines which will pour into the market as the credit crisis eases. If it's 3/4 over as most of the mainstream financial houses and analysts suggest (and that I believe) then that money is going to flow into the undervalued juniors that have lagged gold.

What's more, everyone was waiting for gold to dip down and the USD to start a long run upwards but it seems that consensus has shifted. As I wrote on the Niogold site this morning, Dennis Gartman was all over CNBC a couple of weeks ago saying to go long on the dollar and get out of gold. He was on Fast Money with the crew who have no like for gold and they were gushing over him.

Suddenly this week Gartman said the dollar play wasn't going to happen and he went long on the CDN dollar and Euro, short USD. Then today he went long on gold again. A lot of folks wil listen to that.

During the gold bull juniors have almost always way outperformed bullion but last year investors were shy on all stocks so the juniors got pummled. I suspect a lot that was due to small cap ETF's which may have had positions in gold juniors. As investors dumped small caps, gold small caps got creamed and that set a momentum.

Now I think the credit crisis is easing. Not over but the market doesn't seem to care about small 4 or 5 billion dollar writeoffs and they have confidence that the Fed will bail out the big firms :) Weird as it is, it's the fact. So as the crisis eases and gold rises we should see money flow into the sector.

Plays like Tyhee which have a solid resource estimate and continual drilling or Niogold which has a growing resource and also a current drill program with cash in the bank will do multiples.

I disagree with you about the resource count's importance but am afraid to discuss anything like that on this board anymore since I get labled a basher just for expressing such opionions.
