Good afternoon, everyone
A dull grey day in Sault Ste. Marie.
I havene't posted much since the FWR drama ended, but I have been reading regularly. For disclosure...I hold both SPQ and KWG in relatively modest numbers. I did hold FWR as well.
Lots of speculation out there and it makes interesting reading. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts/opinions/comments.
I voted yes on the merger, and I am not interested in parting with my position(s) for anything near 0.19...but, remembering FWR, I may not have an option.
I called the OSC today because I am curious about a couple of issues. If, indeed, Cliff's has access to information which is not public, both for SPQ and KWG (and I am thinking about things like assay results, valuation, other valuable information) what legal obligation do they have in terms of disclosure. I would be gullible if I thought that there is not a lot of information floating around that does not filter down to the retail shareholders. I was directed to the website OSC, the tab "securities law and instruments", then to "instruments, rules and policies", and there is a section, #6, on "take-over bids" It has some interesting information. Looking at 61-501, it is written in legalese, but describes obligations to disclose. Maybe someone with a better legal mind than mine might be able to unravel some of this. It may just be my skepticism, but I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling about the way this is unfolding.
In any event, it is sure to be an interesting week.
Regards
