Re: Only shares held up to June 4, are good for voting. I have a good quantity and they all go for the merger.
I have wanted to send this in response to a number of previous posts, so now I just want to repeat and emphasize the above statement. Only shareholders of record on June 4th are eligible to vote shares on record on that date. As a matter of fact, shares sold or bought on June 2nd or 3rd would not be on record on June 4th. Even if you sold on or after that date, you are still entitled to vote. Think of it as the same as a Dividend date. Shares sold / bought after the Ex Dividend date do not carry the dividend, only the owner "of record" receives the dividend. So to repeat, if you owned SPQ up to June 2nd, you have a vote!
Now regarding the merger: if you hold both SPQ and KWG and you sell to the CLF offer, the odds are that whatever you profit on SPQ you will lose on KWG, at least short term. The merger is the only sure way to get even treatment for both.
In the meantime, lets keep this civil. This is like being in a poker game. CLF is playing their hand, SPQ and KWG - hopefully with our help - are playing their cards. The winner will be the better player, and that is not always the one with the best cards.
I have voted for the merger. I am hoping that we will get to July 8th, and that there will be at least one more card to turn after July 8th.
Good Luck in the meantime......Deke
