Hi Beav: I would say that right now the enemy is easily identified compared to if and when we adopted the gold standard of gold currency. Do you remember Pogo? Being of a certain age, I do, he said "We have seen the enemy, and he is us." This would be the situation under a gold standard, not only conflict between the haves and have not nations, but also internal strife and competition for scarce resources within nations and communities, especially over gold.
