I agree that is is admirable and a good thing to do - provide job opportunities to the locals.
Where I disagree is the thinking that we are where we wanted to be at this point. I think they could have been much further along in getting the gold out of the ground with more experienced miners.
They couldn't get them before and now they can so why shouldn't they do it. Given time, the locals can certainly compete as many of them already probably are. I am sure the ratio of experienced to non-experienced miners could have been better and now is a chance to improve that.
There is also the opportunity to raise the bar here. The inexperienced can learn a lot from the experienced miners. They should always be looking for ways to improve their operations and having good people is the best way to achieve that.
They've got 10 new experienced miners so they are making good progress. I'm a much happier investor in SGR knowing this.
