..more about mining in the Timmins Daily Press as the Ontario Gov, cuts their life line, because they will not be able to drill for new resources ,Please, could some one on the board that knows Rick Boulay, notify him of this and tell him that the Green_Belt will now be in big demand because of GoldCorps lose in Ontario and since we share the same terrain,,we could be sitting on a Gold mine,,so funny...Traps7

The OFIA will continue to monitor the situation and provide input to the government.

Meanwhile, the announcement could be seen as

positive for First Nation communities living in the Far North's boreal region.

New mining development will need to consult and accommodate local Aboriginal communities before work begins.

"This is good news for the people of Nishnawbe Aski," said NAN Grand Chief Stan Beardy in a press release, "as it will require that First Nations be fully involved in resource development in our traditional territory.

"Not only will this provide clarity for First Nations, Ontario and industry as we pursue new economic opportunities, but it will also support any First Nations who may not be ready for resource development in their territory."
