In a recent oral presentation that I attended by Mr Gartman he was lamenting on the fact that his success financialy in equities trading was dependant on as little as 5-10% of his holdings in any given year.
In other words, he was "wrong" 90%+ of the time!
The run up on the other 10% resulted in all his profits!!
He mentioned that his "new bride," without realising his substantial overall profits, suggested he find something where his "success rate" would be much higher than 10%.
His response (to our audience) was that it might be more profitable to find "a new bride" than take her advice vis a vis market strategies!"
My interpretation of it all was that "in the market, as in love, you have to "kiss alot of frogs to find the 'golden prince!'"
The question we have to continually ask ourselves is, "Is this the Golden Prince or just another frog?"
No doubt there are days when even the "frogs" look good making the separation difficult!
