I think the sword is a hologram....but a very realistic one that's hanging too high up for closer inspection.  

And I further think that the company could clarify things if they wanted to....I'm not the first to suggest that there is an uneven playing field with some participants privy to information that we in the bleachers have to guess at.  It is what it is.....if I'm right then the only thing to do is to take advantage of that sword and the FUD it inspires to buy more while the price is low.
