Yeah I agree. Quebec wouldn't have gone through all this if it wasn't for moving forward. The fact the government shut down the idea of a mortorium on shale officially with a vote and has over and over denied any such idea is a good sign. The BAPE will advise on how to move forward and the legislative framework.
Heck, the BAPE meetings were even called "the sustainable development of the shale gas industry in Quebec". There is total 100% support from the government on this and even the BAPE members (seemed to already have been leaning torward development). They already know there job is to advise on an appropriate way to move forward, not if they should...it's how they should. I know we've over used that line, but it is the truth.
Jean Charest has already recently said shale gas will be moving ahead, but they will be putting the best and toughest laws in place to protect the environment! This is great that they do this and I am sure all companies have no problem with that.
