And. just like that, C-NY is gone with a stop loss. Disapointing earnings trumped the technical break out!

Just back from the big Ag Show in Brandon. If I had 1% of the value of the machinery they have under the roof, I'd take all the KXL'ers/PDG'ers to Vegas, 35 cent SP be damned! In my 40's I am hardly an oldimer, but I still shake my head at how much bigger and more expensive the machinery is than it was just a decade ago.

Caught a bit of a presentation on grain markets. While the guy could see a short term correction possible, the fundamentals are in place for higher prices. Prices that are already high. corn and soybeans are fighting for more acres and everything else must rise to "buy acres" and ration demand to prevent shortages. Canadian canola crushers going very strongly. FWIW, me and my organic chronies are not benefitting from this bull market (well, we are saying "Bull!"). Org wheat used to generally fetch a 100% premium to conventional, flax would be 100-200% and oats maybe 75% premium. Flax is down to about 50%, along with wheat if you can deliver to a flour mill. Much lower if you just sell to a broker. Oats is maybe at a 20% premium. So many people say organic is the "way of the future". Maybe, but the present is not encouraging at all!
