Longbomb - thanks for the great link to the "Syngenetic Gold" site. Basically documents the thinking of Ulrich Kretcshmar, both PhD and P Geo, with massive experience in central Canada mining. An erudite blog.
Bottom line - KXL's and Sage's deposits and exemplify the syngenetic gold deposit model, where the gold is precipitated by ocean-floor smokers at the same time as the volcanic host rock is laid down - rather than the model where the veins intrude on the host rock eons after the lava has stopped flowing. The overall picture I get from his analysis and historical comparisons is the the Kodiak property is to be taken very seriously, e.g. when compared to Val D'Or.
