And by the way, the melting point of gold isn't part of the picture. The melting point of gold is actually very high:
Au: 1064 degrees C
Typ. structural steel: 825 degrees C
The method of transport is that the gold goes into solution, and this is accelerated at the high steam temperatures and pressures deep underground.
