Hope you're doing great with your bypass which I assume you have had!  Great post, exhibiting in depth knowledge of corporate finance. And I agree with your psychological profile of the engineering genius. 

It seems that Poet is being run as a small tech company, not even necessarily as a small public company. 

It's hard to argue that, ideally, it would not be advantageous to have a CEO and/or a CFO who would have a proven and relevant background and strong ties with high powered investment bankers.
