You are right and you are not.

If Poet would have always clearly been telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, Poet would already be dead by now. 

That's a Dilemma. And it's usual, not Poet specific. The balancing of good information and keeping it all together ist an art. I don't like it, but it worked so far.
