"The most critical thing is the transmit solution at 400. I had said before, Once we get to 400, we have a roadmap to 1.6TB. We’ve shown that on the receiver: no problem. We’ve been able to scale it, demonstrate it: check. What we have not done is the same execution on the transmitter, and there we’ve been limited by component availability. The silicon photonics modulators have not been mature. We’re actively engaged on the directly modulated lasers with a path. But I do believe, if you guys monitor our progress, and look at announcements that might suggest that is on track, then watch out! Because then our ability to execute that roadmap becomes very, very clean. A lot of the technical issues, over the past two to three years have been solved, in terms of integration and the interposer itself. We feel extremely confident that with the right components we unlock the potential of this and we can run. So that would be the thing I’d… I mean we’re very, very focused on… in every talk I’ve given, that is critical for us as a company"
Can someone honestly explain-without blowing sunshine up our asses- how much of a technical hurdle this is for the company, is it fundamental or logistical? Thanks.
