The issue is whether or not management feels it needs money (and how much and how soon).  I don't see Poet doing any big favors for a big investor. If there is such an entity or entities, it will be a two way bargain - Poet gets money, investor gets stock.  Having the investor buy on the open market doesn't bring money into the treasury, although it would do wonders for the portfolio balances of Agoracomers!
