The implication of your statement is that the Company (POET) is peddling grandiose visions that are highly exaggerated or not even true, please explain.
Perhaps you really meant Agoracom Kool Aid? If so, fair enough. Speculation here is based on limited available information. I would suggest not a single person here (including yourself) is a veteran semiconductor industry professional with their finger currently on the pulse of exactly what moves the company needs to make in order to succeed. That's why we have SV and VR.
In the meantime, we get to entertain ourselves with semi-educated guesses. Hopefully some will be right, and there's no doubt some will be wrong; but I think many are aware of the risks. As far as a polarized forum goes, what's wrong with rooting for the home team, especially when money is on the line! :)
