To assuage the growing negativity being expressed here I recommend that you revisit the Company website /investor relation/presentation and events to look at least at the latest company overview and the 2018 technology background.
Setting aside any lack of technical expertise you will see all the characteristics necessary for your investment in POET to be a success. Namely evidence for a rapidly expanding market for POET's product offer, clear diffentiation of POET products from other companies offers both in terms of price and performance that is providing real evidence that POET is addressing the needs expressed by the large customer base for in its products.
As regards management competence the current team is hard to fault in that POET has attracted significant talent with accredited experience in the photonics and Integrated Circuits design and manufacture.
If your personal DD is not up to measuring the opportunity the above presents take comfort in the fact that the Chinese consortium has done and not found POET wanting nor has our new President a competent proven manager from the Photonics Industry.
Whilst The current bout of gloom is undoubtedly caused by the lack of handholding, brow mopping and pillow plumping needed from the grown ups, don't unnecessarily wallow in anxt as they are obviously far too deeply engaged with opening the floodgates to spoon feed us needy shareholders. Clearly this is the lull before the storm.
As regards Customer One they logically will be taking a deep look at the POET prototypes provided, integrating the OI with their offering aimed at the hockey stick expansion in the 400 G market beginning in the second half of this year.
The Consortium will be pell mell organising the build out of a factory and gearing up the machinery and staff needed to utilise the benefits the of the POET OI offer to the sensor market, and in all probability also their internal 5G internal telecommunications markets.
Suresh Venkatesan has stated his aim for POET as becoming a world leader in the integrated photonics market and personally I rather like the way he is playing both the Western and Asian markets which could well estabish PTI as SV intends My hope being that this ambition will fend off the threat of early buy out before full commercialisation.
Realistically we have to wait until the second half of this year to see gains don't let errational emmotion cloud the real opportunity PTK presents in this year. Being Buried so deep the PIC supply chain rather masks the real potential of this venture opportunity but there is no doubt in my mind that clear potential is there in the already built in shareholder value of the developments made by this company in the last two years.
