Consider this. The Chinese Consortium of Investors are basically investing in the POET Optical Interposer platform as a supplier of active components. Their business model is intrinsically tied to the success of the POET Optical Engines to supply the huge Chinese market.

But they are not just tied to the success of the Optical Interposer platform they are tied to the relationship with POET who will be a major customer of DL. What if POET is taken over by a US company? And that US company decides they don't want to do business with the new DL owners. These investor groups may decide they need to invest in POET and buy stock in order to position themselves to gain a little leverage against the potential buy out of POET and the loss of their market to supply POET.

And they know the potential of the Optical Interposer so buying POET shares becomes attractive as an investment as well.
