As we know they are pursuing non-dilutive financing. That would not be happening if this was phase 1 of a total buyout. I know it is hard to get what it is they are doing but phase 1 was developing the technology to a point of maturity where it can intercept the road map of the global companies they are working with. They now have a portfolio of devices and the Optical Interposer is not constrained by speed or wavelength. It is ready to go into advanced designs including network switching and ASIC’s…LIDAR.
Assembly, test and design are replacing the fab. They will be fab light using expanded production facilities at DenseLight with the buyer footing that bill and I expect they will be expanding the operations at SilTerra to include InP fabrication and Almae has fabrication for the development of new POET Optical Interposer lasers and modulators.
These are exciting times to ramp up the commercial applications using the “fab light” approach where others maintain the fabrication plants.
The heavy lifting of the 2.5 years of turning the dielectric into a very flexible and adaptable platform technology is behind them. I think these guys are ready to make bold moves and selling DenseLight was a big step in this plan as the technology is ready for wide spread application.
