I made my case for accepting that POs are a necessary part of the life cycle in a development company only last week Whilst understadibly no shareholder is going to like the dilution they cause the fact remains that capital is the necessary life blood in the commercialisation of a prerevenue company. Too bad the plan for income from warrants exercised did not work out.
The worst part of this entirely predictable and necessary capital raising process is the return of the Glooms to gloat the curse of the ' you have nothing brigade'.
The factors which have led management to this course is the interest they discern from customers and partners alike in their newly announced product and the real possibility now of accelerating other pipeline products towards commercialisation with lesser degree of risk. I suspect that this is on the basis that on this occasion they can reasonably predict with a greater degree of certainty the real potential for revenue in this year.
Though only recently announced, I would expect that the proving process necessary for Accelink take up of whats on offer from POET Technologies in the MOU is already someway down the project path and the Accelink team have communicated they like what they are seeing, hence the confidence and big smiles that SV and TM beamed at FJ and Mr and Mrs Tomboy at the Empire Club last week.
The glooms may have the stage for a cameo appearance but the high kicking danciing girls are in the wings warming up for their performance of the Can Can.
Unlike the disaster of of October 2016, everything points to a carefully orchestrated PO offering a significant a inrease in capacity to complete PTI's plans in this FY with less risk. What emerges will be a swift resumption of the SP's climb as already demonstrated by the eagerness displayed in the take up of the offer that led to the additional $4M to be raised - People want in and this is simply not comenserate with the baseless negativity peddled by the Glooms that there is no shareholder value built into these plans, just management set on hoodwinking retail investors.
Yes its a sad fact of finance that bankers feed off the flush of funds passing through their hands for doing very little. This is just the way it is and has been since time immemorial. It is simply not the conspiracy the glooms would have you believe. Retail investors do make money out of this ugly process called capitalism if not the financial markets would not exist.
I feel the P.O. is the riskyy hard to handle fuelling process for the POET Rocket standing on the launch pad. Will someone now light the blue touch paper please - stand back!
