When Suresh was handed the reigns and he gave us the first update on POET after taking over for Peter Copetti, Suresh said in the roadmap that POET would grow by GaAs, InP and (Silicon) hybrid and even by strategic acquisitions. So even though some things may have changed along the way the skepticism here is not entirely true. All bases are moving forward in "parallel" at various stages of development. When we generalize our praise or disappointment, we might be disappointing ourselves by pointing it to the wrong stream of the company. Early on, Suresh and his team identified that POET must move forward in different areas at the same time which has lead to the corporate mission phrase of becoming a leading photonics integrator. At the same time, there are different sets of challenges to overcome for each stream. Some need more time and others are relatively much sooner to commercialize.
