opportunityknocks re: "Management might have saved our butts by buying Denselight". This may be true, and may end up working out well, but I keep asking myself what if POET did not decide to develop the technology by themselves, and when Suresh took over, or before that from one of Ajit's contacts (the rolodex and all), they had decided to work with a partner. A partner that had serious resources. And a focus on POET, and not financial and time distractions (DL/BB). Where would the POET technology be at now (and POET's SP). All hindsight though of course. I do fear that we are in a worse position for a partnership now.

In 2016 POET announces "POET intends to commercialize its integrated resonant cavity detector as its first product and demonstrate this prototype by the end of 2016" & "demonstrated superior responsivity parameters relative to best-in-class performance" & "These results from the first set of detector wafers produced at the production foundry provide critical proof points for POET to introduce a differentiated detector product to the market later this year".

Fast forward to today and it is stated that the discrete GaAs components (e.g. detector) have no market value by themselves.

I really must be missing something here. These people are smart right, and before they stated they would sell the detector, they had a 100 day tour to find out what customers wanted. Could they have completely missed the boat about the detector, or what is going on here?. I understand that the detector is part of the "all" as in "all or nothing", so they are obviously needed, but why state they plan to sell the detectors discretely? One example of many. This is the opposite of ducks lining up. The ducks have been eaten (along with my lunch - again).

I'm not sure if there is an ethics issue or not, and will not speculate, but something is amiss for sure. Just like not anticipating delays for an export license. I guess maybe these were just "oops, did not realize that"? Either way, not impressive.

I don't think the GaAs POET platform is dead, but I do hope they get a partner very soon. That is why I invested.  Based on DL/BB, the recent estimates of a $4.20 SP in 2021 (or whatever) may sound good now, but did that sound good when you originally invested? These estimates also assume the current number of shares.

Back when the SP was $2, I showed my wife a recent NR, as well as the photos of management. My wife said "these people can't be trusted, the NR sounds all promotional and not believable, and these people look shady". She said I should sell, but of course I said I know what I am doing. Perhaps I should have listened (at least that is what she keeps telling me "I told you so", which to me currently, is the worst part of this debacle).

Best of luck all and have a great weekend. Pretty sure things will get better (SP) based on DL/BB, just a question of when and how much. DL/BB does look good right now, from a perspective our the current SP.
