Message: gaAs delay due

I remember at the THM or it may have been prior to that when Suresh said that in this industry you have to get prototypes into the hands of your customer to make sales --- well, fast forward to today, and we find that InP is the area of least resistance and POET is obviously a player to 'disrupt' that. So it is good that they are leading with the InP platform, in my opinion, to bring to market the nearest products.  In my opinion, companies when they are backed into a corner or seem to be headed in that direction, they withhold coming out completely and saying there is a delay. I feel that if they were clearer in the past and just came right out and said they are continuing with GAAs, but that they would be leading with an InP platform, the market may have liked their more straight-forward direction. I reiterate how glad that they are forging ahead with what now is their platform of least resistance. It just seems like they have difficult obstacles in the GAAs platform to do on their own and they will need a partner ---- with all of their patents, I feel that they will find someone for that market.

Unfortunately, I did not realize that one had to register for the live presentation today, but at least POET has concurrently released their visula slide presentation today to support their audio presentation today.

One thing that is staying consistent is that POET is developing in parallel, so they have not given up on the GAAs platform. I feel they are probably looking for a partner(s) to take that to the next level. But I am so relieved that their InP platform is not only disruptive, but near-term as well. Also, they will be marketing their enhancements to the Denselight product line as well. So we will have a few streams of revenue going forward in 2017 and 2018.

There are 33 pages in today's presentation.

On page 11, they illustrate that InP Platform Status Development is on track. Engineering samples are available from the InP platform for Mux/DeMux.

On page 16, POET mentions that they are capitalizing on the market shift to Inp-based interconnects (Denselight/BB Photonics) stuff- greatly expanding addressable markets. I am very happy that POET has positioned themselves here. Here, they will expand their reputation in the dataroom --- that will open the door to turn addressable market into consistent revenue in a high-growth area in my opinion.

On page 17, InP Hybrid Integration drives down costs ---- (Now is not that what Data Centre managers need to hear?--- Suresh mention the importance of that at the THM - or else you do not get in the door to speak to them).

On pages 19-20, the slides describe the "Advantage of POET Integrated Dielectric Photonics". POET has a "Disruptive" cost advantage at the moment. Here they are able to move ahead with the initial sale of discrete components of the Optical Engine in 2017.

On page 25, POET has itemized their accomplishments to-date.

Wow, what a journey, but at least we are still in the running to disrupt something. It is important that POET lives up to or maintains its self-proclaimed status of being 'disruptive'. So then, they will not need to yell it's achievements to the market, but they will only have to whisper to be heard. Then all of its past silence will be respected by the market that they are in control of what they are attempting to do/are doing instead of just flapping their lips in my opinion.
