My gut feeling tells me that they have accomplished what they set out to do on the T-RAB so now Dr Taylor can retire.

I agree with this statement that you made,

GT leaving suggests he and the T-RAB are happy with where they are at. Perhaps the reason it was set up was to fulfill the needs of a special certain company,
