woke up this morning, put on my slippers, went to the kitchen and.....saw a flock of common blackbirds in the yard. they were scrapping and snapping and cackling over the bread scraps left for the songbirds the evening before.... an unruly lot of beggars.....commonly coloured and quite annoying in their behavior. ....and oh what a feeling as my soul went thru the ceiling.......(c/o John Prine).
