Additionally, although a merger of some sort again is not out of the question, I must wonder why it would be considered.

The world needs POET, not the other way around, so if POET were to takeover some companies that it needed to develop its' business, I would understand that. What I wouldn't understand is a merger with a larger company that would swallow us whole.

If POET is to remain a standalone company, which it has stated that it will, then even a merger with a larger company seems doubtful.
